To Be or Not to Be

To  Be or Not to Be. There is a formula: Understanding = Knowledge + Being. (P.D. Ouspensky).

Unfortunately, in the West, the concept of ‘being’ is at best misunderstood, or more usually simply unknown. A machine may have vast knowledge (AI for example), but cannot have ‘being’. ‘Being’ is uniquely a human trait, or should be. A machine may be able to describe ‘being’, but can never possess it. Since people largely behave like machines, neither a human nor AI can have understanding. Therefore, all discussions of what the world is, or could be, have no validity. However, there is a way out; improve one’s level of ‘being’. Then a conversation is possible.
